Strengthening Redistribution,(Mutual aid), and Cultural Resistance in Berlin, Hosted by Urbane Praxis and Space of Urgency.
We invite Berlin’s cultural spaces, collectives, and communities of urgency to come together and begin shaping a city-wide alliance for access to cultural spaces and survival.
The focus is on the spaces where marginalized communities gather and organize: queer and LGBTQIA+ safe spaces, diasporic and migrant initiatives, anti-racist collectives, grassroots hubs, and places of care and solidarity. These spaces are vital for cultural resistance, and they are also the ones most under threat.
Gentrification, budget cuts, right-wing pressure, and hostility toward dissent are shrinking access to space. Institutions are failing, funders are withdrawing, and those who hold space for others carry an ever-growing weight.
This first session is not about polished outcomes. It is a moment to listen, to map what exists, to identify what is missing, and to seed practices of solidarity, redistribution, and mutual aid. Mutual aid here is not only about money but also about sharing time, skills, visibility, and infrastructure between communities to keep access to space alive.
