Full Details

For the fourth consecutive year, AL.Berlin joins forces with ALFILM Festival to present the official party of its 17th edition.

Taking place at Festsaal Kreuzberg, the event unfolds from evening to dawn, bringing together live performance, DJ sets, and curated listening sessions. Doors open at 19:00 in the Biergarten with a vinyl set by Beirut-born DJ and record collector Guy Dermosessian, alongside AL.Berlin’s signature Arak bar, before the program moves indoors to continue into the early morning hours.

In line with this year’s ALFILM focus on Sudan, a central highlight of the night is the live performance by Alsarah & The Nubatones. Returning to Berlin after more than seven years, the Brooklyn-based group presents their distinctive “East African retro-pop,” rooted in Nubian musical traditions and shaped by themes of migration and cultural exchange.

The evening opens with a special edition of Meshwar Mixtapes: Sudan Resists, curated by Lubna Abdalla — a listening session that weaves together music, storytelling, and reflections on resistance, loss, and resilience.

Berlin-based Colombian DJ, producer, and curator Edna Martinez brings her signature fusion of champeta and Picó sound system culture, connecting Afro-Caribbean traditions with diasporic and global club sounds.

Closing the night, DumTak — a Palestinian-Jordanian DJ and filmmaker and ADIRA resident — delivers an energetic set rooted in Arabic musical heritage, bridging classic hits, contemporary sounds, and electronic influences.
