Welcome to the AL.Festival takeover at Refuge Worldwide! As part of the 2025 edition, we will be hosting daily shows on Refuge Worldwide, featuring interviews and discussions with our community and artists participating in the festival, focusing on music, culture, and resistance.

We have the great privilege of sharing an hour with LOINESSA, a DJ and music producer guided by ancient, chaotic, and mischievous feminine forces. Her sets draw from a global upbringing in Egypt and across the Middle East, shaped by years in the West Coast rave scene. She is the co-founder of Egyptian Street Meat, an all-Egyptian artist collective, and a curator dedicated to creating intentional, femme-centric club spaces in Vancouver and her hometown of Cairo. We will be talking about political identity in nightlife, what it takes to produce culturally nuanced events and expectations faced by SWANA artists today.
